hi-impact pledges to help young people in Merseyside prepare for the world of work

Sep 2, 2019

hi-impact has announced a partnership which underlines its continuing commitment to helping young people in Merseyside prepare for the world of work.

The Education, Technical and Media consultancy has partnered with The Careers & Enterprise Company to become a ‘Cornerstone Employer’, investing time and resources and working with other employers to benefit schools and colleges and inspire young people across the area.

hi-impact will work with The Careers & Enterprise Company and the Liverpool City Region Enterprise Adviser Network, a network of volunteers from the world of business in the area.

Together they will ensure that young people across the region have access to meaningful engagement with employees and gain the vital work experience they need to help them make informed choices about their futures.

Through it’s award-winning school curriculum and technical support solutions, support of Wirral’s career and enterprise programme and providing it’s own work experience programme, hi-impact has already proven itself to be a strong ambassador for the career and enterprise provision and is delivering a wide range of activities for local pupils. This dedicated work will be expanded in the company’s new role as a Cornerstone Employer.

Cornerstone Employers act as champions to encourage new businesses in the area to get involved, as well as encouraging their own staff to become volunteer ‘Enterprise Advisers’ in order to pass their business knowledge on to the next generation.

In becoming a Cornerstone Employer, hi-impact joins a strong contingent of employers across the country working as Cornerstones.

Liverpool is also one of the government’s 12 Opportunity Areas across England, designed to promote social mobility and open-up opportunities for young people.

Dionne Thomas, Head of Marketing at hi-impact said: “hi-impact has a passion for supporting young people in the region, whether that be through delivering engaging curriculum workshops, robust and reliable school tech support solutions or working together with schools on their career objectives.”

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to join the other Cornerstone Employers in leading the development and delivery of the Liverpool Region Opportunity Area Business Plan and encouraging other organisations to become involved in this excellent work helping young people move successfully from education into work.”
