Empower young engineers to construct their dreams and bridge the gap to success through our hands-on bridge building workshop for primary school students, where they’ll learn the principles of structural design, teamwork, and problem-solving while constructing sturdy and innovative bridges.
‘Children loved it and were all really engaged!!
Teams of pupils collaborate to use large scale construction equipment to build a bascule bridge (drawbridge)
Pupils learn how to connect the pieces together using nuts and bolts and how to create moving or solid joins. The teams design and construct their moving bridge with appropriate support depending on their age. There is an emphasis on working together and evaluating and improving their bridge as they go.
Design and Technology
‘The children have to work together as a team which encouraged lots of discussion and also helped them to work with children who they wouldn’t normally play within class.’
